Meet Erivan GD, a Brazilian bassist and composer whose music, influenced by jazz and Brazilian roots, is a unique blend of intuition and experimentalism. Born in a rural area and raised on on the culturally multifaceted outskirts of São Paulo, Erivan draws from diverse cultures in his artistic journey.
Starting in the punk rock scene in 2001, Erivan transitioned to jazz, pop, and Brazilian music, performing professionally across Brazil, Mexico, and Canada. Erivan holds a bachelor's degree in music performance - jazz from Unicamp, Brazil, and an interdisciplinary master's degree in music from Unicamp/Unam, Mexico. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in music at McGill University, Canada, his research focuses on the inclusion of deaf individuals in music, influencing his artistic work by emphasizing multisensory and participatory elements in composition and performance. Integrating these influences, he crafts his own intuitive and experimental music.
Erivan's notable project, Collectives, comprises three audiovisual albums (Blue Collective, Collectif Rouge, and Coletivo Amarelo). Inspired by stories from people around the artist, the project is a collective effort with musicians, visual artists, and sound designers. Participants, guided by Erivan's compositions, find and express their voices, creating a participatory music open to diverse visions and perspectives.

Collectives is composed of three audiovisual albums (Blue Collective, Collectif Rouge, and Coletivo Amarelo). The music and visual elements were inspired by the stories of the people around the artist and developed in a collective work with different musicians, visual artists and sound designers. They participated in the process of being guided by Erivan's compositions to find and express their own voices. Collectives is the result of the artist's intention to create a participatory music, bringing people together, open to different visions, voices, perspectives.
